Why does it sometimes stay silent until I click?

Browsers block sound until you have clicked something on the page. The radio starts anyway (muted) and turns the sound on at your first click, key press or tap. To make it start with sound by itself:

  • Chrome / Edge: click the padlock (or tune icon) left of the address, choose Site settings, set Sound to Allow. Or install the radio as an app (the install button above, or the install icon in the address bar): installed apps may play with sound straight away.
  • Firefox: click the padlock, then Permissions, then Autoplay, and choose Allow Audio and Video.
  • Safari: Safari menu, Settings for This Website, Auto-Play, Allow All Auto-Play.
  • Phone: add the radio to your home screen and open it from there.
